A Multiphasic Lab Screening will be held from 7 am–10 am
only.
Fasting is required a minimum of 12 hours prior to the test
and wear a short sleeved shirt for easy access.
Pre-Registration for the lab screening is Required.
Cost: $20 per participant and includes the following lab
results:
Albumin, Alkaline Phosphatase, ALT, AST, Total Bilirubin,
BUN, Calcium, Carbon Dioxide, Chloride, Creatinine, Glucose,
Potassium, Total Protein, Sodium, CBC, Cholesterol,
Triglycerides, LDL, HDL

Alum Bank offers Acupuncture
Windber Medical Center has been
providing these services at the Hospital since the year 2000
and has been very successful with this program. Acupuncture
has been used for the treatment of disease and for the
prevention of disease for over 2000 years originating in
China, but has spread throughout the world as a powerful
alternative and adjunctive treatment for various medical
conditions.
Acupuncture is extremely successful in
the treatment of a multitude of conditions including, but
not limited to chronic back pain, chronic
headaches/migraines, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome,
acute sciatica, sinusitis, tendonitis, dizziness, irritable
bowel syndrome, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal
pain/bloating, pre-menstrual syndrome, irregular menses,
morning sickness, infertility, anxiety, depression, and a
whole array of musculoskeletal disorders. Acupuncture can be
used solely to treat any of the above or can be used in
combination with other medical treatments for these
diseases.
The actual technique of Acupuncture is
done with sterile individual disposable needles that are
placed in Acupuncture points that may be local to the
problem or remote from the problem and usually stimulated in
various ways either with electrical stimulation or heat or
possibly with manual stimulation. The Acupuncture needle
placement is not particularly painful, but it does sometimes
cause a reaction called “Qi” this is connecting with the
energy and is described as an “achy” sensation.
The medical Acupuncture that is coming
to Alum Bank Community Health Center is accompanied with a
whole array of alternative medicine modalities including
Massage Therapy, Occupational Therapy-Kinesiology,
Osteopathic Manipulation, and Medical Acupuncture. We have
found that the combination of all of these modalities
together are very synergistic and help produce positive
results a lot faster. Our team of dedicated practitioners
are excited to bring this treatment option to Bedford
County.
